Specimen notes
Public Note:
no milk, gills arcuate, stem polished, base strigose, darker towards base, no smell, no taste. FN66, 4-spored. all tissue dextrinoid, cap smooth. spores length=7.9-9.2µm (µ=8.4, σ=0.40), width=5.6-6.7µm (µ=6.1, σ=0.37), Q=1.2-1.5µm (µ=1.38, σ=0.12), n=20. Cap ornamentation missing. If M. subfragillima then I'm not sure I would call these cystidia violin shaped, spores are a bit short and Doesn't have strigose stem base of Stevenson's image. Need more details from Stevenson's type. Same as PDD88400 also as M. subfragillima, and 13570 as morris-jonesii. In fact the type of M. subfragillima appears to be M. olivaceomarginata, without any violin-shaped cystidia, leaving M. morris-jonesii as a candidate, despite pale color and no latext. Trees place this next to M. galopus, so that supports the id as M. morris-jonesi. The type of morris-jonesii has perhaps longer necks and not so pale.
