Specimen notes
Public Note:
As X. rubellus Pat indicates red around insect tunnels is characteristic. In S. America this has moved from P. radiata to Nothofagus obliqua. Spores here smooth, not truncate. Cap terminal elements mostly smooth but a few zebroid. No platelets in congo red. spores length=12.3–14.1µm (µ=13.0, σ=0.61), width=4.3–5.0µm (µ=4.8, σ=0.25), Q=2.5–3.0µm (µ=2.73, σ=0.17), n=10. No orange dots in stem base. Features don't entirely agree with this species (X. rubellus). Sequences indicate this is one of the many morphological variants of X. cisalpinus. #3 red capped version
