Specimen notes
Public Note:
cap sticky. Pores 1 per mm. Taylor's description of M. viscidus does not match McNabb's. He does not describe it with a dark brown cap. He does describe viscida with excvate pores which this does not have. There's a possibility Horak's synonymy of the Nothofagus and Tea-tree versions is incorrect. In which this case should be called F. viscidus. It appears to have a flesh coloured cap, not brown (pale or dark). No taste, smell. HOK/HN4OH on cap no reaction. Unfortunately chinese sequences from the type of F. viscida are elsewhere, and Bresinky's sequence is somewhere else again. However the chinese sequences are from clones and on suspicious long branches and indicate placement in Zangia, which may or may not be correct. Bresinsky has at least two other sequences which are misidentifiactions.
