Specimen notes
Public Note:
cordate spores, like some Campanella. Hymenium with clusters of crystals. 4-spored, not cystidia, strongly gelatinised. Clamps large. New to NZ. Ellis & Ellis description makes no mention of the cordate spores Quelet's interpretation?). T. phacorrhiza has been shown to come out in the Hygrophoroid clade. Insufficient phylogentic work on this genus. Rest of genbank Typhulas are in the aethelioid clade, but this is probably in Cyphellaceae. This collection produces fruitbodies in culture. Clubs drying from white to purple/brown, like some campanella.
