Specimen notes
Public Note:
conidiophore smooth, to 160 x 4, brown, conidia rough, in slimy heads, length=10.5–12.7µm (µ=11.8, σ=0.75), width=3.7–5.0µm (µ=4.4, σ=0.38), Q=2.2–3.4µm (µ=2.72, σ=0.35), n=15. The frequent presence of a paler truncate base or bar makes this distinctive, although from material in culture this appears to be associated with the first produced conidium. Cultures with a greenish tinge before maturity. Conidiophores to 160um, unbranched (except at extreme base). Conidiophore pale charcoal, most smooth but some with sparse granulation. Mophologically closest to freycinetiae but not. ITS not close to anything but S. oleronensis, which is a teleomorphic Stachybotrys
