Specimen notes
Public Note:
presumably this is what has been recorded as Phyllosticta variabilis in NZ. This material was not seen on the leaf but isolated from leaves covered in Mycosphaerella cunninghamii. The conidia are perhaps becoming 1-septate? . Conidia length=6.0–7.8µm (µ=6.9, σ=0.72), width=2.0–3.6µm (µ=2.7, σ=0.51), Q=2.2–3.3µm (µ=2.61, σ=0.34), n=7. Not really a Phyllostica but an anamorphic Melanconiella (Discosporina) which is supposed to be confined to Betulaceae! Greeneria conidia pale brown, Discosporina hyaline
