Specimen notes
Public Note:
taste slighly bitter. Cap not changing in KOH. Hygrophanous. Same as ZT8928? Gills not fluorescent. The hygrophanous cap and micro-features (caulocystidia) lead me to G. austropicreus rather than ferruginea. Caulocystidia predominantlly lecythiform, with some cylindrical elements. Tissue clamped. Cap hyphae with zebroid incustation. There are some cystidia and basidia with yellow contenst in water but they aren't chrysocystidia (in patent blue 5). Spores with distinct epispore but no plage. Spores (including epispores) length=6.6–7.9µm (µ=7.6, σ=0.6), width=6.0–6.7µm (µ=6.4, σ=0.2), Q=1.1–1.2µm (µ=1.2, σ=0.1), n=5. Spores have a lower Q.ITS Sequence say not a Gymnopilus but Phaeocollybia/ LSU says G. austropicreus?!
