cap slimy, gelatinous. With metuloids, < 100um Fibrillose at point of contact. If this were entirely fibrillose then it would fit H. brunnea. Gloeosphex cystidia not seen. Spores length=5.2–7.0µm (µ=6.0, σ=0.7), width=2.7–3.6µm (µ=3.3, σ=0.3), Q=1.5–2.0µm (µ=1.8, σ=0.2), n=10. Sequences say this is same as H. nothofaginea and H. metulidea (which would be a later synonym)
