Public Note:
secotioid. Must have been an immature specimen. Spores dextrinoid when mature length=12.6–16.3µm (µ=14.5, σ=1.1), width=5.8–7.2µm (µ=6.6, σ=0.5), Q=2.0–2.4µm (µ=2.2, σ=0.1), n=10. ITS confirms my original identification of Notholepiota areolata. Appears to be in Boletales and therefore almost certainly ectomycorrhizal. Only second record in South Island. It is currently quite remote from the next nearest neighbour in genbank, and those that are near, have short sequences.
