Specimen notes
Public Note:
cap a clamped gelatinised cutis with striped extra-cellular pigment. Spores spherical length=7.8\endash9.6µm (µ=8.6, σ=0.6), width=7.0\endash8.8µm (µ=7.8, σ=0.6), Q=1.0\endash1.2µm (µ=1.1, σ=0.1), n=9, inamyloid (or possibly very weakly amyloid). With gloeosphex forked cheilocystidia. With gloeosphex caulocystidia. 4-spored. Xeruloid feeling. Keys to Clitocybula/Xeromphalina. See recent description of similar centrally stipitate Hohenbuehelia boullardii with gloeosphex cystidia. The concensus is that gloeosphex cystidia is diagnostic for Hohenbuehelia and so this taxon and Panellus ligulatus must be transferred.
