Public Note:
taste bitter. Not T. (porphyrellus) brunneus. Sequences say T. formosus in NZ is congenric with P. porphyrosporus (type of porphyrellus) and not congeneric with T. felleus (type of Tylopilus). IN addition Tyopilus bruneus in NZ and Au is neither a Tylopilus nor a Porphyrellus. In NZ we have two distinct groups. The NZ type is with Nothofagus. For Wu this is clade 26, Tylopilus ss.
