Ascospores 5-5.5 x 1.5-2, just mature, oblong-elltipic, ends rounded, slightly wider to one end. Morphology needs checking carefully against Dharne 1965 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7167163/pdf/JPH-53-101.pdf The ITS of the NZ collections from Pinus are different to GenBank LC438561, also referred to this species

ITS a close match to SH0982686.09FU, ex pine ex Europe, identified as Lachnellula resinaria. Morphology quite good for L. resinaria sensu Baral & Matheis 2000, Z Mykol 66: 45-78. Same as PDD 122799
