Specimen notes
Public Note:
[PL] Cap convex red to scarlet with sepia tones in centre, felted, not peeling. Gills white, adnate. Frb 15mm cap diam. x 20mmx5mm. Stipe cylindrical, soft.Spores 7.5-10 x 6.5-8um, blunt verrucose and short ridges and fine lines. Dermatocystidia numerous, clavate, aseptate or uniseptate. 50-120 x 5-10um. [JAC] DNA sample. Sequence indicates this is R. roseopileata and not R. vivida. The type remains the only collection. It seems possible R. vivida is a synonym of R. roseopileata.
