Public Note:
Ascomata solitary, immersed, globose, dark, quite thin-walled, with a central, nonpapillate ostiole; paraphyses persistent; asci fissitunicate, broad-cylindric, 8-spored; ascosopres didymoporous, pale brown, amyloid when treated with KOH (but not in water), wall ornamented with low ridges, about 25-30 x 11-12 µm. Cultures slow growing, on PDA producing deep red pigments diffusing into agar, after 3 weeks single ascsospore colonies covered with fertile ascomata; anamorph conidia not seen.
