Specimen notes
Public Note:
Annotation J. Fournier 12/2008: Aside from the indehiscent perispores, this might be a depauperate stroma of D. dennisii var microspora. The perispore of such depauperate spores may have dehisced previously, making this character difficult to handle in such specimens. Annotation M. Stadler 01/2009: HPLC profile devoid of cytochalasins and containing large amounts of BNT. I did find some spores with dehiscent perispores, so I would tentatively refer this as D. dennisii var. microspora too. But the material is indeed not in good condition.
Public Note:
Stroma in poor condition, with very faint greyish pigments in KOH, surface smooth, with finely papillate ostioles; interior fibrous, with locules; sparse old ascospores 14.5-15.5 x 7-7.5 µm, medium brown, inequilateral, apparently KOH-.
