Public Note:
The pileus is not squamulose but has repent elements which separate to expose white subcutis. The terminal hyphae are not refringent. This is not L. gauguei although FAN5 keys there. There are at least 3 other NZ undescribed Leucoagaricus with similar macro/micro morphology, all distinct in ITS (e.g. L. 'Mt Bruce'). L. gauguei is not currently sequenced. This collection with photograph. Collection possibly reprsents two different species.
