Public Note:
cap smooth. With photo in packet. Material dried yellow. Gills chocolate. Id confirmed by sequence. [PL] Cap white, convex, small concolorous squamules, aging to light straw. Ring ???, persistent cogwheel. Cap 80-100mm. Stipe 60mm x 35mm white, clavate, smooth, fibrillose, bulbous. Cut flesh white in cap, red brown in stipe. Spores 10.5-12 x 6-7um. [JAC] A. crocodilinus is described with the catenate cheilocystidia typical for the section. This specimen does not have them. It has a sterile edge with a band of parallel semi-gelatinised brownish hyphae and a white macro-appearance. It does have the typical big spores, although they are variable. Spores are length=10.0–13.4µm (µ=11.2, σ=1.04), width=5.7–7.6µm (µ=6.6, σ=0.53), Q=1.5–2.0µm (µ=1.71, σ=0.11), n=20
