Cap not black in KOH. Taste mild. Spore print fulvous. Can finely brown fibrillose over cream/yellow sticky base.With abundant pleuro & cheilo chrysocystidia somewhat encrusted. Spores smooth, thick-walled, with small germ pore. Clamped. Cap filamentous, not gelatinised, with exra-cellular pigment. Spores 7.3-8.6(7.9) SD0.4 n=12 x 4.4-5.1(4.7) SD0.2 n=12. Same as 9407 (as Gymnopilus?). Nothing in Holec. Smith to bakerenis/simulans but neither.
