Specimen notes
Public Note:
with separable viscid pellicle. Cap with stronger blue-green colors than photo shows. Spore print umber. Initially stronger then fading yellow. Base of stem blue/green/grey. With chryso pleuro & cheilocystidia. Gill edge concolorous - not showing white edge. 4-spored. Many chrysocystidia on gill edge, only a few of pleuorocystidia are. Germ pore barely noticeable (if present at all). Spores 7.6-8.5(8) SD0.3 n=12 x 4.5-5.1(4.8) SD0.2 n=12. This fits morphologicallly with what I've known in UK as S. pseudocyanea but the presence of gill edge chrysocystidia means it can't be. Seems less robust than S. caerulea - although that's where European literature leads me. Reported to MAF 2/07/2010
