Specimen notes
Public Note:
Clearly same taxon as from Dunedin. Spore print brick dust pink. Spores not amyloid (not Melanoleuca!). With cheilo & pleurocystidia. Cap terminal hyphae with brown plasmatic content. Pleurocystidia thin walled. Gill edge concolorous. Tissue without clamps. Cap a partially gelatinised cutis with incontinuous ascending spheropedunculate elements, some Q>3 and some <3 (not hymeniderm). FAN leads to nanus/phlebophorus/cinereofuscus/plautus. Some stems with powdering of caulocystidia - but not all. None of these seem sufficiently close, especially in terms of cuticle structure and stature. Nothing from Horak fits. Howver this soes look like P. nanus sensu Keizer Encyclopedia. New record for New Zealand. Reported to MAF 2/07/2010
