Specimen notes
Public Note:
Spores pinkish buff in mass. Cap a loose trichoderm, not gelatinised, not ornamented. No clamps. Cap yellow and darkening in KOH. Gill tissue leaching yellow pigment into KOH. Spores strongly dextrinoid, nearly hyaline in KOH, really small. No pleuro or cheilocystidia. Macroscopically I thought this was a pyhroglossum because of lilaceous hyphae - but not. This is var. ionipus but not worth distinguishing apparently. Spores 4.6-5.3(4.9) SD0.2 x 3.2-3.8(3.5) SD0.2
