Specimen notes
Public Note:
When dry cap buff and gills tan. Spores 7x4.5, finely verrucose, amygdaliform but some collapsing to look guttiform. Cheilocystidia irregular cylindrical 5um diam. to 45um long, some branching. Cap hyphae circinate. Stipe present (in young fruitbodies). Albolanatus nearest except that with distinct guttiform spores and smaller fruitbody. Not plumulosus - that with bigger cystidia and no stem. C. gilvidus doesn't have a stipe and is yellow. Doesn't fit any of Egon's descriptions but file as C. gilvidus as name based on single collection. Same as 9967 & 10382. I now have a number of collections that fit the description of gilvidus and yet have a distinct stipe when young. I think the description of gilvidus needs ammending. EH questions ident. To EH 2012
