Public Note:
No thread in hollw stem. Clavate at stem base. Cap filamentous, clamped, with brown intra-cellular tissue. Veil remnants gelatinised? Gills parallel and separated by hyaline vesicles which rupture as gills pulled apart (trabecular cystidia) - giving gill a covering of white flocci. Gill edge with copious oleiferous hyphae. Arrangement of basidia in centre of 5 basal cells very regular. Spores 10x5um germ pore 2um. With membranous ring, with veilar remnants. Not atramentarius, close to acuminatus but spores not narrow enough.
