Specimen notes
Public Note:
Hairy stem, no basal disk, smell slightly nitrous when rubbed, drying pale cream. Spores weakly amyloid 7x5um, 4-spored. Cap a cutis of skeletal hyphae, gelatinized, with oleiferous hyphae, not dextrinoid, not ornamented. Stem tissue dextrinoid. Cheilocystidia ampulliform with siccus extenions at apex. Not the usual cutis for a mycena. Sequence comes out in 'atheniellaceae' around scytinotis, atheniella and with Mycena 'duffy creek'. There is a gen. nov. here, if not a broad Atheniella.
