Public Note:
stem hollow but without thread. Veil forming strongly adherent ochre filaments. Stem without setae. Cap veil G 'Ochre', chained elongate elements only, to 20um diam clamped, not thick walled, encrusted yellow - but rapidly falling off in Melzers. 4-spored. Young gills showing sterile gill edge and collapsing pleurocystidia cells on gill face. Pleurocystidia vesiculose 35 diam x 50um long, spores ellipsoid truncate 14x7um, germ pore 2.25um. The ochre encrusted veil places this a lot nearer to C. ochraceolanatus of FAN6 rather than lagopus. Will leave filed under C. lagopus for time being. Reported to MAF 2/07/2010 [JAC 2010] Sequence confirms ochraceolanata. New record for NZ
