Specimen notes
Public Note:
cap deep saffron. Gill edge concolorous, smell slightly mealy, no juice. Gill edge without elastic thread. Spores amyloid, length=8.3–9.9µm (µ=9.3, σ=0.5), width=5.7–7.6µm (µ=6.7, σ=0.4), Q=1.3–1.5µm (µ=1.4, σ=0.1), n=17. See FUNNZ photo of M. mamaku (which it isn't). Cap and stem tissue only weakly dextrinoid (amber not vinaceous), no caulocystidia. Cap a clamped trichoderm with extra-cellular pigment (not an ixocutis), no hymeniderm cells (so not Mycena?). With strong yellow intracellular pigment. Spores in KOH like Callistoporium. ITS in middle of nowhere. Long branch to Baeospora/Pleurella/Neohygrocybe. Have two collections with same sequence. Atheniellaceae best guess, or hygrophoraceae sl. Gen. nov.
