fishy smell. Spores strongly dextrinoid, most ellipsoid but some boletoid (straight abaxal, convex adaxial with suprahilar depression). Cap hyphae with elongate cells and ascending dextrinoid elements. FAN5 key 6. Clamp connections absent. Spores length=6.7–8.6µm (µ=7.6, σ=0.49), width=3.3–5.0µm (µ=4.1, σ=0.47), Q=1.4–2.3µm (µ=1.87, σ=0.20), n=16, with clear band of cheilocystidia. Section ovisporae, subsection felininae. See ZT68-241 and JAC9182. [Dec 2017] the spores have lost their dextrinoid reaction and appear much thicker-walled than when fresh. Spores length=7.2–8.9µm (µ=8.0, σ=0.51), width=4.1–5.1µm (µ=4.6, σ=0.30), Q=1.6–2.0µm (µ=1.73, σ=0.12), n=20
