Specimen notes
Public Note:
names in this area are Everhartia, Hobsonia, Delortia, Hyalotrichophora, Trocophora, Helicostilbe. Delortia distinguished from Everhartia by having filaments longer than conidiophores, dry sporodochia are flattened and conidiogenous cells are swollen. This not clamped so not helicomyxa. On that basis this is an undescribed Everhartia. 5-septate, hyaline, to 18um diam, filament to 6um thick, shaped like two nested fat commas. Conidium forms from 1-septate 2 celled intial, the upper cells extends laterally and curves down one side and under, whilst the other extends laterally the other direction and curves up and over, both in a 2D plane. (how does Gyoerfyella form?). The conidium is attached by a thin conidiophore thread, to max 1.5um. Not associated with lichens or insects. Everhartia sp. nov. (yinyang nom. prov.) Couldn't get into culture.
