Public Note:
Singly and a few close together; height to 6 cm; pileus: to 2.5 cm diam. conical when young, later convex with slight umbo. Surface moist, deep yellowish with orange-brown overtones, central umbo deep amber brown to almost blackish, young unexpanded specimens darker, yellow part towards margin with radial red brown striae. Flesh pale creamy under the dark skin; sitpe: 2-3 mm diam. about equal, evenly bright deep yellow, flesh concolorous with a central slit, red brown arachnoid veil trace near the top and some belts or scattered reddish fibrils below it; gills: sinuately adnate, deep yellow - red brown with spores, long and short.
