Public Note:
Under Kanuka with Kauri, taraire and tanekaha; singly and pairs; pileus: to 7 cm diam. convex with slight umbo, often wavy, later depressed slightly and radially split. Dark grey blue, dull, with radial anastomosing fibrils, later purplish blue with pink showing between and colour fading with age. Flesh white, tinged greyish under umbo. White margin, torn, and exceeding the gills. Slightly darker colour at umbo; stipe: 1 cm x 6.5 cm, slightly wider and pointed at base, sometimes flattened in X.S. or even grooved. Colour blue fibrillose stirate, pale near gills and darkening downwards, white surface at the base. Flesh white, fibrous, tenuous and broken down in centre; gills: sinuately adnexed, pale fawn or creamy, becoming pale pink with spores. Margin white, toothed. Long and short, moderately crowded, deep; spores print pinkish, 7.5 - 8.5 µ x 7 µ, angular; spore print only
