cf. PDD 84268; N. solandri, N. fusca and podocarps; abundant; singly and twos and threes together, height up to 10 cm; pileus: up to 8 cm diam., convex with a broad, low umbo, covered with sticky shining jelly. Ochre orange in centre, fibrillose blue-violet at the margin. In age the orange or fawn colour spreads and the dk. blue-violet fades to grey then pale grey. Flesh whitish under the skin. A blue-violet translucent layer at gill base. Margin tending split radially, and cap sometimes wavy or fluted; stipe: 1 - 1.3 cm at gills, tapered upwards, covered with sticky jelly esp. below ring. Upper part violet and white striate, ring superior, arachnoid or semi-membranous, white, lower part whitish or becoming marked with fawn or orange tints, bulb pale. Flesh very fibrous, blue-violet at the top, otherwise white. Centre less dense but not hollow. Flesh with fawn tinges after being cut for a while; gills: sinuately adnexed, deep, papery, violet with orange-brown tinge from ripe spores. Margin sinuate. Long and short, crowded; spores: print orange brown. 10.5 - 11.5 µ x 7 µ. Warty.
