Under willow, Cordyline and mixed shrubs; On limestone, at foot of chasm beside Oamaru Creek; 3 close together, height 11cm; pileus: 6 cm diam. Flat or slightly convex umbonate. Centre bright yellow, shining, fading outwards then becoming fawn striate, margin torn and ragged, with some radial splits. Flesh very thin and translucent towards edge, pale creamy. Distinct and easlily separable from stipe; stipe: 6 mm near gills, twisted, fibrous and brittle, white silky with a "bloom" near gills and at base. Almost equal and with a widened base spreading into the substratum. Hollow, white flesh; gills: adnexed or free, very thin and papery, deep, fawnish with brownish powdery overlay; spores:print warm brownish.
