Under decaying leaves; In shrubbery; Height: 5cm, Pileus: 8cm diam. Convex with a flat top or with central slight umbo surrounded by a faint depression, dull grey or fawnish grey with dark surface fibrils standing out from the surface as long hairs. Hairs radially arranged, longer towards the margin, margin rolled under. Flesh dense and white, continuous with stipe. Stipe: 1.5 cm at gills, about equal or tapering to base, appearing bulbous because of a large lump of soil held together by copious white mycelium. Surface striate, dark greya nd fawn, paler and with a few scales near gills. Flesh solid, white, longitudinally fibrous, slight mauve tinge at the base. Gills: adnexed fawnish with grey margins, long and short, crowded. Spores: print pale apricot pinkish
