Specimen notes
Public Note:
Includes both GMT 107A and GMT 107B; 107A: A single specimen from cultiv. bed under Beech, differs from PDD 84010 in flattish cap and in curved margin at maturity. Cap not so velvety, velvet confined to centre umbilicus, and dcap with radial anastomosing pattern of dark lines. Stipe very light coloured and strongly twisted, lacks black or dark brown "velvet" of small specimens. Whitish flesh and tendency to hollow stipe - L.S. like PDD 84010, Excentric stipe; 107B: One of a great no. of clustered specimens in lawn under Beech. "Inside out umbrella: form distinctive. Gills have faint purple edge, darker than rest of gill. Cap extremely velvety and dark when young, velvet is pulled apart so that cap is slightly lighter when old. Stipe flattened at top, and top half is dark velvety on the surface.
