Public Note:
Beech, Rimu, Totara, Kanuka; single, height 6 cm; pileus: 6.5 cm diam. convex or almost flat, with central umbo surrounded by lesser humps. Radially fibrillose, dk. brown or black fibrils on white ground. Genreal colour fading from centre to margin. Flesh white with some grey or blueish shadows. Distinct from stipe; stipe: 7 mm at cap, narrowest at 3/4 way up from base, basal bulb. Surface dk. grey and white striate, flesh fibrous, grey and white, solid. Basal bulb with white flesh and blue shadows; gills: free, pinkish brown or pale Indian red (drawing possibly too dark), deep, long and short, sinuate margins; spore: print deep pink-ochre (Indian Red).
