On sand dunes, Nikau, Mahoe, Totara, Rata; Single; Pileus: 7 cm diam. plano convex, almost flat. Dk. brown centre, dk. brown radiating fibrils on white ground, arranged in roughly concentric rings. Flesh white, thick, with purple brown staining; stipe: 1.4 cm towards bulbous base. Narrowest part at ring attachment. Superior white membranous ring. Flesh white with slight browning, fibrous, tending to break down in centre; gills: free, deep, dk. purple brown, long & short, free edge, irregular; spores: print purple brown
