Olearias, Coprosmas, Astelia,Carmichaelia, Hebe - subalpine, low scrub on old moraine; height: 7cm; pileus: concial at first, then "Burmese umbrella:, finally the edges turned up. 3 cm diam. Small sharp pointed umbo navy blue, the rest ochre fawnish, sts. stained blue esp. at margin. Smooth surface, paler where dried out, faint radial striae near margin. Often a centre paler dried out region and darker fawn near margin containing the striae. Flesh pale creamy, extremely thin, separtating easily from stipe which has a diff. texture; stipe: 2.5 mm. Hollow, twisted, fibrous. Surface pale and shining above, browning to the base, with more or less blue tinges (where handled ?). Basal white hairs and a few white rhizomorphs, some white mycelium extending on to rotting leaves. Blue tints on all these white structures; gills: adnexed, fawnish, rather powdery with darker colour, thin and papery, long and short, deep, crowded. Blue where bruised. Spores print purple brown.
