Pileus to 2cm (dried material), stipe to 5cm x 4mm, not corkscrew-like, spores length=5.9-7.7µm (µ=6.6, σ=0.52), width=3.1-4.8µm (µ=4.0, σ=0.49), Q=1.4-2.2µm (µ=1.66, σ=0.21), n=11. The pileus has no stratification, the stipe is too thick and wrong moprhology for F. stratosa. Despite the lack of branched ixohyphidia this falls within the range of NZ F. velutipes and not F. stratosa, and the later is reprsented by just the holotype at TENN.
