Specimen notes
Public Note:
hyphae clamped, basidia transversely septate, spores 15 x 5um. As discussed by Roberts FM2(4) E. plana, glandulosa and truncata have been confused. E. glandulosa is a turbinate species that frequently goes under the name of E. truncata. E. plana, as its name suggests, is lobed and effused. McNabb's description of E. glandulosa is actually E. plana which suggests that many NZ records have been misidentified. See also Mycotaxon 109 p219 where Peter Roberts revives an older name E. nigricans for this taxon. Reported to MAF 2/07/2010. Probably E. nz.
