Specimen notes
Public Note:
peristome plicate, endoperidial body stalked and with plicate collar, body 18mm diam and smooth, not hygroscopic. Exoperdium inner surface felty, cracked & separating. Rays encrusting soil. Pegler to striatum. Cunningham to bryantii and close to pectinatum known from NZ but separated on basis of collar. Coker to bryantii. Peglet et al in Kew publication place bryantii in synonymy. Both pectinatum and striatum in Argentina and for Soto & Jorge this would be pectinatum on basis of long stalk, and has spores closer to pectinatum than striatum. It seems pectinatum, bryantii, striatum & plicatum are very close. Obvious difference to me is that striatum has exoperidium surface that cracks and separates whreas pectinatum is smooth. Capilitium smooth, brown, thinner element tortuose. Spores ornamentation with distinct flat-top 4.4-5.1(4.7) SD0.2 n=14 (without ornamentation). Ornamentation about 1um. Reported to MAF 2/07/2010. material mouldy 5/2014
