spores inamyloid, stem yellow (paler than cap) and blackening. Gills exude dark fluid when cut. Spores 11-12.5x6.5 very few constricted. Trama parallel. Taste mild. Pileipellis not an ixocutis, a cutis. Basidia 40um long. With clamps. Gills nearly free. Clamp connections present on cap hyphae (non-expanded ones). Castle Hill is an area frequented by visitors so the presence of this Euroepan taxon is possible. Not H. astatogala according to spore shape.
