Public Note:
Cap 4-8cm, smooth to deeply cracked, felty, clay buff, yellow buff flesh in cracks with occasional red flush. Stem 5cm long x 3cm wide at apex. Strongly attenuated to bottom, frequently laterally constricted, sometimes fused, longitudinally striate, with deep red on damaged areas, otherwise light buff. Pores 0.5-1.5mm very irregular in outline, becoming elongate towards stem. Slightly decurrent. Colour F-saffron. Bruising greenish-grey. Flesh white, turning greenish grey towards stem base but red terminally. Smell like scleroderma, taste mild. Spores 17x5um, cap hyphae with zebra incrustations. FM3(3) keys to chrysenteron but doesn't seem right! FM9(3) doesn't cast any light. Stem attenuated downward
