spores 10 x 6um rough. Cheilocystidia 60 x 11.5um with lageniform neck 2 x 40um.
New to New Zealand. There seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding the use of the names escharoides and melinoides. For Moreau FD20 both names are unusable. NZ collections should be checked for presence of veil in young fruitbodies to arrive at the corect name. Massee recorded melinoides which was probably the same taxon. I see no reason to disbelieve the record even without material. Reported to MAF 2/07/2010
