Public Note:
Cap 6-8cm diam., white, breaking up into coarse, deep, scales. Veil long attached. Ring boot-like. Stem concolourous 2.5-3cm x 4cm, strongly attenuated, solid. Flesh white and reddening rapidly, especially at base. Smell unpleasant. Cheilocystidia present, irregularly clavate 7-9 um broad, embedded in brown mucilage on gill edge in mature material. spores globose/ellipsoid with apiculus,length=6.4–8.1µm (µ=7.3, σ=0.38), width=5.2–6.6µm (µ=6.0, σ=0.40), Q=1.1–1.3µm (µ=1.22, σ=0.06), n=20. Near hedge under conifer. Despite this not being near the sea grassland, or with road salt, this still comes closes to A. bernardii.
