Public Note:
Gills have darker edge. Gills drying buff. Cap dark fibres towards centre, hyphae filamentous gelatinized, pigment extracellular, pleuro thick walled and hooked. Spores 6.5 x 5um oblong. Stem is silky without darker fibrils (from photo).
Section pluteus, stirps cervinus according to Watling.
Both FAN2 and BFF4 key straight to P. atromarginata.
Spores slightly different to northerm hemisphere descriptions and this usully on coniferous sawdust.
NM2 has P. tricuspidatus as syn of illegitimate P. atromarginatus. Pluteus tricuspidatus aff.
Horak has 3 undescribed in this section and this closest to p. similis.
