Specimen notes
Public Note:
Spores ellipsoid, tuberculate but very indistinctly (not a good character in Shoemaker's key). Marginal hairs 800um (so not colensoi) with multifurcate base. Spores 20 x 13um. Keys to subhirtella but that mainly on soil and plant remnants whereas this consistently on wood. Marginal hairs thickening towards base and only narrowing at root, thickened walls to 8-septate 40um thick at most. Delta version of schumaker leads to balansae/erinaceus? Need to check if this is same as previously identified S. subhirtella. No - this differs in hair morphology. 28/2/2010-on loan.
