Specimen notes
Public Note:
Conidiophores scattered, macronematous, unbranched, conidiogenesis enteroblastic monotretic (some sign of being percurrent), conidia eusepate?, no hyphopodia 60 x 20um, conidiophore 100 x 7um. Sutton, Myc Res 100, 1337, 1996 has key to cheroid genera. Here keys to Digitodesmium, but that is micronematous, sporodochial. Ceratosporium not mentioned, but that micronematous according to DH1. Cheiromyces also micronematous, Sutton, Proc. Ind. Acad. Sci. v94, 1985. Other morphologically similar are Eversia and Hughesinia. Ho et al Mycologia has key to cheiroid genera. Here distoseptate doesn't key. If euseptate then keys to Pseudodictyosporium but not becauses that has branched conidiophores. Cheiromycella annulata Mats. Icones appears euseptate, this sp is not a Cheiromycella, needs moving, maybe into Pseudodictyposporium. See Hughes & Myc Res 95, p158. See also Tretospeira which is monotypic however, this not T. ugandensis. Pseudoacrodictys dimorphospora appears incorrectly placed and is better placed also in Tretospeira. Most of above genera knocked out because they are holoblastic - leaving Tretospeira. Piricaudiopsis needs tracing. This maybe a new species? Same as JAC9115. Possibly an immature stage of Tetraploa aristata? But if so then see also Paratetraploa.
