Specimen notes
Public Note:
Sequences place this near to W. virescens and within 'Clavogaster'. It seems to be associated with rhizoids and is on fragments of wood. It has a strong veil when young, and indeed looks somewhat secotioid at this stage. Stem hollow. Gill edge looks sterile and white. Gills are rusty tawny with spores. Gills sinutae. Cap an ixocutis. No pilocystidia observed (in KOH). Cap hyphae thin, to 3.5um thick. Clamped. Spores brown, thick walled, broad pore. 4-spored. Without chrysocystidia. With cylindrical cheilocystidia, gill edge sterile, no pleurocystidia. Spores length=10.2-12.0µm (µ=11.0, σ=0.46), width=5.6-7.1µm (µ=6.4, σ=0.39), Q=1.5-1.9µm (µ=1.72, σ=0.09), n=20, pore to 2um, some with small hyaline cap. Wall to 1um.
