Specimen notes
Public Note:
Closest BLAST match to Rickenella mellea (U66438), but lots of differences, and they are not the same species.
Public Note:
Dried frbs more like R. mellea ss than PDD 96804. Pilocystidia relatively scarce and caulocystidia restricted to stipe apex. Cheilocystidia frequently mucronate. Basidia 4-spored. Hyphae clamped (small). Spores glued in tetrads. length=5.7–6.6µm (µ=6.3, σ=0.43), width=2.9–3.6µm (µ=3.1, σ=0.30), Q=1.8–2.2µm (µ=2.00, σ=0.17), n=5. Caulocystidia large, conical, to 75um and 25um diameter at base. The caulocystidia alone serve to distinguish this species.
