Specimen notes
Public Note:
[Trappe] 10-20 x 13-26mm, subglobose to irregular, finely felty, white when youn, developing brown patches with age. Gleba white in youth, ivory with age. Odour & taste mild. [Cooper] SV-ve but pink, perdidium uniformly tan. A differentiated trichoderm with refractive cystidia. The hymenium is disrupted and hard to discern basidia - evidence suggests there are 1,2,3,4 spored basidia, they are not all 2-spored, which is supported by jumps in spore sizes. Smaller spores length=9.9–12.3µm (µ=11.2, σ=0.71), width=9.1–10.7µm (µ=9.8, σ=0.49), Q=1.0–1.3µm (µ=1.14, σ=0.07), n=15, larger spores length=12.8–13.2µm (µ=13.0, σ=0.20), width=10.8–11.9µm (µ=11.4, σ=0.42), Q=1.1–1.2µm (µ=1.15, σ=0.03), n=6, ornamentation to 2.9um. Note that Lebel's image has a different coouration to Ross image of the paratype PDD60578 and PDD70835.
